Updates and more

The school year is moving along quickly and we are deeply grateful for the collective talent and energy of our students and teachers. We will continue our development of common techniques and, most importantly, linking these techniques to our instruction and online lesson design. The teachers will focus on what is being learned rather than what is being taught. The students  will get a chance to visit the ADS library and work on the online lessons with their teacher.
Please take a moment  to familiarize yourself with the online learning through  this website www.alefb.org . Also, every class will work independently on a project. These projects will be based on whatever  they are learning  throughout  the year.
At our beloved AEP we teach, learn, laugh, play, eat & drink mattee, but most importantly we share wonderful moments like Thanksgiving potluck and  surprise birthdays for our dear moms.

First day of school

We felt that this year was one of the smoothest first days of the new school year. For whatever reason students seem to be ready to learn and happy to see each other.
We noticed that the new approach, planning and starting the year right was a swift transition from summer vacation to school.  Everything from registration, class assignments, activities and parents meeting went well, which means one thing, here at AEP Students are first, and when we are planning the year ahead.
It was a great successful first day of Arabic Education Program at our beloved ADS. Thanks to our parents, teachers, volunteers and amazing students!!

Hello AEP families,
Welcome Back! We are incredibly excited to begin our twenty-six year here at The ADS! This promises to be a year filled with golden opportunities for all of our students as we strive to find ways that we can be even better than we have before! We embark on this journey with a pledge to you and our students, that this will be a year of engaging, meaningful and rigorous work in our classrooms, combined with special assignments, online learning and many other activities.

We will continue to build upon and refine our proven Arabic Foundation of good work.
Our vision remains… Teach Arabic...Introduce Middle Eastern Culture....Embrace Opportunities . . . Unlock Potential . . . Lifetime Friendship...and Inspire Excellence!

Our teachers and volunteers are committed to providing our students with many opportunities to excel. We invite and encourage you to reach out to your teacher, the office staff and myself if you have any questions throughout the year.

We look forward to a very positive and productive year together! We extend a special, yearlong invitation to you to join us at anytime whenever possible. We want . . . we need . . . and we value your involvement and support in your child’s Arabic Education! We seek volunteers to help us with the following activities:
1) Teacher-led instructional support, usually in the classroom
2) Reading and working with children who need extra help

The wonderful AEP teachers, volunteers and I feel privileged to be a part of this school family. We thank you for your support and look forward to a fun year full of learning and amazing things!!

Midterm testing 1/16 & 1/23

Midterm testing is January 16 and 23. The reading and comprehension test is this Saturday. Grammer and writing/spelling is on the 23rd. Please check with your kiddos and try to help them as much as you can. Their teachers has given them guidelines and materials to practice with. Also, please try to be on time because teachers will be doing a pre-test review at the beginning of the class. Convincing our children to do things they don't want to can be challenging. However, it is important to remember that pressuring them into doing the things that will make them successful, almost always makes them more difficult to work with. From our perspective, it makes no sense that our kids would say their Arabi work is hard. The truth is most kids are motivated and not at all lazy. We just have to keep praising and encouraging them no matter what! We trust our teachers and dedicated volunteers to make the midterm testing a pleasant experience for your kids.

As the old year passes by and new year in hope you have a great beginning. I encourage you as parents to please spend sometimes going over the class materials with your kiddos at home, so we can all get the most benefit from our program. We definitely have much to be proud of here at the ADS and AEP! With gratitude for your help and support to AEP.
